DIY? Because I like it!

I probably first discovered that I like making things and making old things new at the age of six when I used an old shoe box to make a double bed for my Barbie.  I still like doing the same thing except now I have a real house and a real Ken that doesn't wear silly light blue silky suits.

We recently moved into a brand spanking new/old place and it gave me the opportunity to rearrange, redecorate, refurbish and renovate.  I got these old chairs that used to be my grandfather's and I gave them a new life. Aaaaaah!

I think most of us can thank dear old Pinterest for amazing ideas and feeding our brains some delicious creative stuff.(I really struggled with that sentence now!)

Screens my friend Michelle and I made for my windows - I hate curtains.

I decided to paint one of my old cupboards. I think it looks awesome!!!

Cheers and don't forget to make those creative juices flow!

The Slipper Ghost

Oooooh, sorry for such a late follow up on the previous entry - I blame it on the end of the year.  Too many end of year functions, too many last minute projects, just too much!

Anywoo, after attending a wedding in Hoedspruit and after our tent episode we travelled the Panorama route.  We stopped at every little town, strolled through the shops, ate like there was no tomorrow and checked out all the tourist attractions.

We slept over in Pilgrim's rest one night where a ghost stole my slippers, yes you heard right - because the next morning my slippers were gone and I took them off right next to my bed. So yes, a ghost stole my slippers. Who else if we were the only two people in the house?mmmm?

We also slept over at this really nice place at the Sudwala Caves where we visited a dinosaur park.

It was a nice holiday.

Gold Panning - I did more of a gold "washing" which means I really sucked at it!

I love this little Fella!

Let's buy a tent...

So Daniel and I decided to take a break and go on holiday.  I am going to devide this into a few blog entries.  This is how our journey went...

I really wanted to go to the Kruger National Park.  Usually how our holidays work is we get in the car and drive and buy whatever we need on the road - in other words, no planning.  This time we needed a tent and so we stopped at this really fancy-4x4-outdoor-shop.  We saw the tents, arranged from smallest to biggest on the shelf and decided to take the biggest one after the shopowner convinced us that it is the best tent they have - offcourse! Off we go to the Phalaborwa gate.  Get there and got told that they are full.  Luckily just outside the gate we found a spot to camp at a Forvever Resorts campsite. Get there, pack everything out and pitch the tent - the Kiddies T-Pee tent! Yes, that's right we bought without realizing it, a damn bright yellow Kiddies T-Pee tent with a pole in the middle. We laughed.

Parys! Stop hiding things from me!

I know Parys like all the songs on my Queen cd but somehow I discover someting new every day.  My friend, Margory, and I wanted to have a "hide-away-from-the-world-girly-afternoon" and she showed me this little gem of a coffee shop right here in Parys!

It was truly amazing, R30-00 for a chicken wrap and a big one! And since I am crazy about tea - they give you a lovely BIG pot of tea with 3 tea bags in! Nice! That's all I want to say!
